About Me

• Based in Anytime Fitness, Kilnamanagh, Dublin.

As a physiotherapist and experienced weight-lifter (starting my journey 10 years ago), I have now acquired my Personal Training qualifications

As a skinny teenager I struggled with body confidence, and today I put an emphasis on mental health and individual growth & development to achieve a healthy relationship with your body transformation.

Personal Trainer

As a personal trainer, my main focus is mindset as I believe being a life coach in a sense is a strong suit of mine.

I believe the key is to train my clients to fall in love with the journey of daily progression instead of glorifying the destination itself. This is how sustainable development is truly achieved.

Client education is central to my approach; explaining why I prescribe certain exercises or dietary macro goals will give you a much more comprehensive understanding about what we are trying to achieve, and how everything I do for you is calculated and tailored specifically and accurately to your needs and goals.

Physiotherapist

With a physiotherapy degree, I can take a more holistic yet individualised approach to consistent sustainable improvements leading to overall lifestyle changes. I gained plenty of experience and knowledge creating exercise programs for more sedentary or injured patients of mine. These were greatly individualised for the likes of Spinal Cord Injury patients with very specific requirements like fine motor skill dexterity or balance deficiencies, or rehabilitating healthy adults after orthopaedic surgery: hip / shoulder replacement, fractures etc.

Although more specialised, This experience will give me a much broader understanding in my approach towards personal training and allows me to appreciate the difficulties of a wide range of clients with greater precision and empathy.

BEGINNER PROBLEMS

No Guidance

Beginners often go from the couch to trying “100% training and diet overnight.” When the novelty fades, it becomes overwhelming — leading to the classic start/quit cycle due to the unsustainability of no guidance or plan

Uncontrolled Dieting

Starving yourself risking nutritional deficiencies by yo-yo dieting, recycling the same 5-8kg body weight throughout the year. Together we focus on slow controlled gradual and achievable habit changes to change the foundation of your relationship with food and training

Dirty Bulking

Raising your calories too fast for “muscle building” purposes. Resorting to dirty calory dense foods and starting with too high of a calory surplus leading to instant fat gain and only temporary strength increases

Gym Intimidation

A lot of the time, starting your fitness journey is mainly about removing gym intimidation and getting comfortable in this new strange environment. Those same people who detest the gym for the negative experience they had could be the exact same people to fall in love with it like I did, had they taken the right approach or had the right guidance. The gym community is really an inviting and beautiful place for all shapes, ages, and sizes. For some people the most important thing at the start is to just feel good about yourself again and start enjoying this new chapter

Technical Difficulty

Using momentum, gravity, swinging, and speed to perform weightlifting repetitions. Or even worse; bouncing the weight at end range using other body structures than muscle to take the force – like your joint capsules, cartilage, tendons and ligaments. This is how to get stuck at a plateau very fast – not to mention injury central. Poor form and ego-lifting will honestly half your rate of Progression

Discipline, Accountability, Responsibility

Learning moderation when it comes to treating yourself guilt free to your well deserved favourite foods when following a plan. Become that new version of yourself that you always visualised but could never see your self achieving with the right plan

Fully individually tailored Exercise Program targeting your goals, personal Dietary Macros Plan with a sample day’s meal plan for your goal

You will get access to my free downloadable Progression phone app where I will have this ready for you in one place. Videos of every exercise performance included and the ability for us to input your body composition progress each week

Via the app you can record your diet each day as it will automatically add up your carbs, protein, fat, and calories for you every day and help you reach those targets that I will have set out for you.
It will also give you the ability for us to record your progress over the weeks in terms of weights used, times or distances achieved etc.
With my business WhatsApp can ask questions or seek dietary or fitness related advice throughout the weeks whenever you like. I typically respond within a few hours

I will be checking in each week to see how you are getting on, and helping you stick to your plans with encouragement. I will be addressing any issues you’re having with consistency using a weekly Check-In app form and WhatsApp video call to discuss it if you like.
